About the Blogger

Hi there! My name is Grace. I’ve started this blog to not only help others cope with the life of chronic illness, but to help myself accept my own self, life, and where I’m headed as a spoonie.
My initial symptoms started when I was a little girl but were always played off as me just being sick or a hypochondriac. A year ago, that changed when I was in the hospital for what seemed like a nasty allergy attack. However, after a round of steroids it was determined that I was dealing with an autoimmune condition. After three more rounds of prednisone (2) and dexamethasone (1), along with multiple appointments with my PCP and psychiatrist, I was finally referred to a gastroenterologist and rheumatologist.
I've now seen both of my specialists and have been referred to a neurologist after a diagnosis of Intracranial Hypertension. My body creates too much cerebrospinal fluid and cannot absorb it fast enough, causing a build up in my skull. This causes 24/7 headaches along with vision and hearing problems. We're still trying to figure out the main cause of all of this and luckily my tests are starting to show something.
In the meantime, I will continue to document things here and share a little piece of the spoonie world with you all.

Thanks,
Love, light, and spoons. ❤
Grace
